Do not install Firefox using a limited Windows XP account. For more information, see Microsoft's support article How to determine your user account type in Windows.

There are 3 avenues for downloading and installing Firefox, each with it's own installation file. One that does everything for you, one where you can choose options to customize the install, and another where you can choose the language along with customize the options.

This article walks you through using the install file that does everything for you. This is the quickest and easiest way.

  1. Go to this download page.
  2. Click the Download Now button.

    The website will automatically discover and download the best available version of Firefox for your computer.
  3. Find and double click on the install (.exe) file (located where your browser puts downloaded files).

    • Alternatively, in some browsers, you can click on the file in the download bar at the bottom of your browser. For example, this is how it looks in Chrome: fx91DownloadBarGoogleWin10
  4. Click Yes on the User Account Control dialog box to start the installation.

    Some versions of Windows 10 will show you a warning when installing apps that aren't from the Microsoft store. See Windows 10 warns me to use a "Microsoft-verified" app for more information.
  5. Firefox will now install.
