A Firefox Account lets you sync your data and preferences (such as your bookmarks, history, passwords, open tabs and installed add-ons) across all your devices. It's free to use.

Important: Sync is not a data backup service. Users should continue to perform regular backups of their Firefox profiles to prevent loss of data.

First: Create a Firefox Account

  1. Click the Mozilla account icon in the toolbar.

  2. Click Turn on Sync.
  3. Fill out the form to create an account.
    Take note of the email address and password you used. You'll need them to sign in.
  4. Click the verification link in your email to confirm your account.
  5. Click the Firefox Account icon to expand the menu.
  6. Click Sync Now.

  3. Click Don't have an account? Get started.
  4. Fill out the form and click Create account to create a Firefox Account. Take note of the email address and password you used.
  5. Check your email for the confirmation link.
    When you've clicked on the confirmation email, Firefox will show you a message that it has started syncing.

Second: Connect additional devices to Sync

All you have to do is log in and let Firefox Account sync the rest. To log in, you need the email address and password you used in the previous section.

  1. Open Firefox on the computer that you want to sync.

  2. Click the Mozilla account icon in the toolbar.

  3. Click Turn on Sync to log in.
    If you're already logged in, click Connect Another Device instead.
  4. Click Sync Now to start syncing immediately.

  2. Click the menu button Fx57Menu.
  3. Click the Sign in to Sync.
  4. Click Sign in in the Connect with a Firefox Account section.
  5. Enter the email and password you used to create your new account.
  6. After you've signed in, Sync will start synchronizing your information across all your connected devices.
