How to contribute to article localization

Before you translate:

  • Make sure you have registered an account on the Firefox Support website. If you haven't, please register.
  • In your account preferences, set
    • Group: as Contributor.
    • Language: to your preferred language

  1. Go to the article you would like to translate. Here is a list of articles.
  1. If the article has not been translated into your language, there should be a message above the article title, stating that the article has not been translated to your language, and provide a "translate this page" link, for you to create a translation of the article. Click on the "translate this page" link.

  2. You will then be asked to provide a title for the translated article. Enter the translated title, and click Create translation.

    • NOTE: Out of the entire knowledge base, among all languages, no 2 articles can have the same name.
    • The title your article should be a translation of the title of the article you want to translate. Do not use generic titles, like "Firefox".
  1. You can now start translating the article.
    • If there are screenshots, you can replace them with your own screenshots.
  1. When you've completed the translation, click on Complete tanslation.

  2. Your article will not be public until someone with approver permissions can approve your article, thus making it public. For more information, see Approving articles and edits.
