Firefox has stopped some versions of the Java plugin from running automatically because of security issues. However, you can still use Java on trusted sites. We'll show you how.

Java security prompts
Even after allowing Java for a site, you may still see a Java dialog box, asking you to confirm that you want the Java content to run. These security alerts are from Java, not Firefox. For more information, see the Java help page What should I do when I see a security prompt from Java?.
Sites report that Java is disabled or cannot be detected
If websites report that the Java plugin is not installed, cannot be detected, or is disabled in the browser, you won't be able to activate Java. Make sure that the Java plugin has not been disabled in Firefox. You'll need to enable the Java plugin in the Firefox Add-ons manager before you can activate Java on trusted sites. See Enable Java for help with that.
