Hello,

The Firefox settings panel does not include an option to disable JavaScript but you can still disable it using the Firefox Configuration Editor (about:config page) or by installing an add-on.

To use the about:config page,

  1. In the address bar, type about:config and press Enter.
  2. Click on I accept the risk!
  3. In the search bar, search for javascript.enabled.
  4. Right click the result named javascript.enabled and click on "Toggle". JavaScript is now disabled.

To Re-enable JavaScript, repeat those steps.

You can also use an add-on to disable JavaScript, for example:

(Compatible with Firefox 57+)

(Firefox 56 and below)
The following add-ons also let you disable JavaScript; however, they're not currently compatible in Firefox Quantum (version 57):

  • No-Script (to disable JavaScript on a per page basis, as required)
  • QuickJava (to easily disable and enable JavaScript, automatic loading of images, and other content)
  • SettingSanity (adds back removed options for JavaScript, Advanced JavaScript Settings, loading images, and showing the Tab Bar)

Thank you and I hope this helps!
