It's often important to know what version of Firefox you are using, to help you troubleshoot a problem or just to know if Firefox is up to date. Here are two ways to find out.

About Firefox window

  1. Click the menu button New Fx Menu and click help Help-29 at the bottom of the menu that opens.
  2. Select About Firefox. The About Firefox window will appear.

  3. Look under the Firefox name for the version number.
  1. On the menu bar, click the Firefox menu.
  2. Select About Firefox. The About Firefox window will appear.

  3. Look under the Firefox name for the version number.
Note: Opening the About Firefox window will, by default, start an update check. If an updated version of Firefox is available, it will be automatically downloaded. For more information, see Update Firefox to the latest release.

Troubleshooting Information page

  1. Click the menu button New Fx Menu and click help Help-29 at the bottom of the menu that opens.

  2. Select Troubleshooting Information from the list of Help menu items. A page with the address about:support will appear in a new tab.
  3. Look under Application Basics section of the page for your Firefox version number.
