Extensions, themes, and plugins are all types of add-ons for Firefox. This article describes how to disable and remove add-ons in Firefox.

How to disable extensions and themes
Disabling an extension or theme will turn it off without removing it:
- Click the menu button , click and select .
- Select the add-on you wish to disable.
- Click its button.
- Click Restart now if it pops up. Your tabs will be saved and restored after the restart.
To re-enable the add-on, find it in the list of Add-ons and click
, then restart Firefox if required.How to remove extensions and themes

How to disable plugins
Support ended for all NPAPI plugins, except for Adobe Flash, in Firefox version 52. See this article for details.
Disabling a plugin will turn it off without removing it:
- Click the menu button , click and select .
- Select the plugin you wish to disable.
- Select in its drop-down menu.
To re-enable the plugin, find it in the list of Plugins and select
