Firefox's toolbar provides easy access to common features. Do you miss something you use a lot? The toolbar is easy to customize. Is there something you don't use all the time? Try adding it to the overflow menu. We'll show you how.

Customize the overflow menu or the toolbar

You can change the items that appear in the overflow menu or your toolbar.

  1. Click the menu button Fx57Menu and choose 57customize-icon.png Customize….
    • A special tab will open which allows you to drag and drop items in or out of the overflow menu and the toolbar. Feel free to experiment with what works best for you. You can always start over by clicking the Restore Defaults button at the bottom of the screen.

Add more features with add-ons

Add-ons allow you to customize the way you experience the web by adding or modifying features to your Firefox. With add-ons, you can do things like block advertisements, download videos, check the weather, and change your browser's appearance.

Here is an overview to get you started:

  1. Firefox may offer personalized recommendations. Click the menu button Fx89menuButton, click Add-ons and themes and select Get Add-onsRecommendations.
  2. To install a featuredrecommended add-on, click the blue + Install Theme or + Add to Firefox button, depending on the type of add-on. To uninstall an add-on you just installed, click the grey Remove button.

At the top and bottom of the list of featuredrecommended add-ons, there's also a Find more add-ons button you can click. It will take you to addons.mozilla.org where you can search for specific add-ons.
