How can I stop those annoying little ad's that pop up as I move my cursor around the web page, seems like anything that is highlighted in green will trigger it? Seems it just started happening with the new version of Firefox.

Last but not least, this could be part of a larger package of unwanted software. You may want to run some supplemental scans. These three tools are highly regarded (and free):

hello hamguy, this sounds like a problem possibly caused by adware/malware on your pc. please go to firefox > addons > extensions & remove any suspicious entries (toolbars, things that you have not installed intentionally, don't know what purpose they serve, etc). also go to the windows control panel / programs and remove all toolbars or potentially unwanted software from there and run a full scan of your system with the security software that you have in place and different other tools like the free version of malwarebytes & adwcleaner.

Where do I find the firefox> etc. I looked in the Program Files under Mozilla firefox but it's not there. I really think this problem is from installing rev. 23, never had it before. Is this a common problem with rev 23? If so, l'm going back to IE.

Hi hamguy, if you use the classic menu bar, it's on the Tools menu.

Tools menu > Add-ons > Extensions category

If you use the compact two-column menu (orange Firefox button) then

orange Firefox button > Add-ons > Extensions category

And no, it's not part of Firefox.

By the way, double-underlined words that trigger little ads on mousing over may be site-specific, but if you see it everywhere, it's probably one of the many "free" add-ons that embed TextEnhance. Last Summer, it was in an extension named VideoFileDownload, and articles on other sites identified numerous other culprits.

I suggest disabling ALL nonessential or unrecognized extensions:

orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons > Extensions category

If in doubt, disable, then use of the links that usually appears above a disabled extension to restart Firefox.

If you want to ask about whether a particular extension is trustworthy, you can copy/paste from this page:

Help > Troubleshooting Information > "Copy text to clipboard" button

Note: when pasting into a reply, you can scroll down and delete Important Modified Preferences and everything that follows that.
