When on a site I don't seem to be able to get the keyboard to come up. the usual way by tapping on the area you want to type in does not work. What am I doing wrong?

What tablet is it as there have been some issues with some tablets on screen keyboards. If you reply what tablet it is, maybe one of the Mozilla devs involved with mobile Firefox can then help you.
