Firefox opens a zoom meeting when I open a new tab/window

I was part of a zoom meeting yesterday and entered through a URL. Now, whenever I open a new tab or window, Firefox attempts to connect me to this meeting. I've been using Zoom for several months (joining meetings through Chrome), but yesterday was the first time that I've entered the Zoom meeting URL in Firefox. I saw that this is an issue that others are facing, but there didn't seem to be a resolution. Can anyone please advise on how I can stop this from occurring? It's extremely distracting and time-consuming.

In Firefox 56 and earlier, with the old "new tab page," sometimes a tile from history would trigger an odd behavior such a message that Firefox wanted to launch a different application. The approach to that was to remove any tiles that might trigger the unwanted behavior. I don't know if that is an issue with the new "Activity Stream" page, or whether you have that page as your home page.

Example old thread: Why does another application launch when I open a new tab? Plug-in is in Firefox and I can't get ride of it.

Does that seem like it could be the explanation? If so, can you edit your Top Sites to get rid of it?
