I downloaded and installed Thunderbird 3.1.11 yesterday on Powermac G5 osx 10.4.11 Tiger, tidied up all the "possible spam" stuff, read all my new (to Thunderbird) messages. On starting today it says "Your system doesn't meet requirements to run Thunderbird". On checking, indeed it looks like this is true today - but yesterday? What happened?

Can you confirm you are still running Thunderbird version 3.1.11 'Help' > 'About Thunderbird'

I'm wondering if an auto update occurred and this may be causing the issue.

You can stop Thunderbird checking for updates. 'Thunderbird' >'Preferences' > 'Advanced' > 'Update' tab select 'never check for updates' click on OK

I re-downloaded 3.1.11 and after re-instal and restart all works well. This still leaves me at a loss for the actual reason but at least we are go.
