When downloading a program, my notification popup, no longer pops up and tells me download is finished. How do I get it back? Tried config and it's still listed as "true"

Thanks, Sharon

I assume that you mean the browser.download.animateNotifications pref?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

It used to be when I downloaded a program through Firefox, a notification would pop up by the taskbar, telling me the download was complete. I no longer get those notifications. I tried checking filters in about:config as suggested elsewhere, except the ones suggested did not exist in my config. Isn't there a simple way to turn that feature back on? version 37.0.2

Thanks
