The Mobile Firefox 26.0 on Google Play now supports devices running x86-based, Intel Atom processors. Mobile Firefox Releases only supported ARM v7/v6 cpu's before as to why it did not install without using Beta builds of Firefox before.

While there were 22.0 b4/b5/b6 Beta builds for the android-x86/ there does not seem to be a mobile Firefox 22.0 release for android-x86. The current android-x86 build at moment is the 23.0 b1.

Before there were only mobile Firefox builds for ARM v7 and v6.
