I have been using FF for 4-5 yrs & like it. Had a system crash which I am recovering from OK (TBird now runs) I was running FF version 3.6.13 but have been unable to get it up. Have tried versions 3.6.0, 3.6.8, and most recently 3.6.15. Each install seems to work but doies not run. Usually get the m4essage XULRunner version '1.9.2.x' is not compatible with min 1.9.2.13 -- max 1.9.2.13 (x = 8 or 15) Cannot find a verion that will load.

For 3.6.0 could not find entry point for js_PutCallObject in njs3250.dll

Do a clean (re-)install:

  • Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
  • Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
  • Don't remove personal data if you uninstall the current version.
  • It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.

You do not need to create a new profile, that is not necessary for this issue

Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere (not in the Firefox program folder) and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

This response was very, very helpful -- esp the link to the MozillaZine 'Browser will not start up' URL Thanks
