I have changed my password on an IMAP server

I have deleted the corresponding IMAP provider in the saved passwords

Thunderbird does not ask me the new password and tries to connect to the server with the old password.

I have restarted Thunderbird, but it keeps trying to connect to the IMAP server with the old password, and after some time it times out.

I am using the latest version of thunderbird 102.9.1 on windows 10

in settings>privacy&security, after clicking 'saved passwords' and 'show passwords, highlight both rows for the account, click the dropdown menu and delete both rows completely. that should remove any passwords.
