Since the last update, when I download a file, it always displays the complete download list. Prior to this it only displayed the list when I clicked the download symbol. Is this some new feature, it's very annoying, or a bug? How do I turn it off, I checked the setting and can't find anything? An Internet search said to look in the Download area and uncheck the feature, I could not find anything to uncheck.

In Firefox 97 and 98 there have been changes to the download panel.

You can set this pref to false on the about:config page to prevent opening the download panel on each download.

  • browser.download.alwaysOpenPanel = false

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I accept the risk!" to continue.
