I have an att sub account that mysteriously stopped working on 8/5. The error message I get says there is something wrong with the password coming from Thunderbird. Thunderbird consistently requests the password, but cannot log on.

The password works and I can access the email for this account on the att website.

I have wasted hours with att online and done all the usual password and configuration changes they have suggested without success. It has been configured and reconfigued for POP and IMAP accounts.

I have 4 other accounts that are operating without any difficulties and the configuration is exactly the same....as far as I can see. There were no changes to the subaccount prior to its demise.

What am I missing? I believe it to be an att server problem

Suggestions? Thank you in advance

After you created the secure key, did you delete the old passwords from Options/Security/Passwords/Saved Passwords, restart TB, and enter the key when prompted?
