I didn't ask for hat (ugly) background color in the new message (or reply) window, and I'd like to get rid of it ASAP...

Usual solution: Re-install an older version of TB.  :-(

The new spurious versions are not welcome by everyone, particularly when they produce changes they didn't ask for. Not by me in this case.

Please...: "If it works, don't fix it!"...  ;-)

That tan color is not part of the default setup in TB 68, so it must be caused by some Windows color setting. In any case, the color can be set to whatever you like with a userChrome.css (tested in TB 68/W10):

In any case, it doesn't appear in TB 60.9.1, which remains nice and clean... For whatever reason, that brown color only pops up in TB 68.6.0 and higher... UserChrome.css didn't work for me or I didn't manage to apply it properly. Too complicated.  :-(

Again, "If it works, don't fix it!"

Thanks for help, but the old versions just suit me fine for the time being.  ;-)
