I have default firefox 29 installed on a default windows 8.1 with the default Samsung desktop theme but the inactive tabs are black on dark blue. I can't read them. I don't want to start installing add-ons to resolve errors. Please advise how to get the white text for inactive tabs. Many thanks Judith

Does the Samsung Theme include one for Firefox too, if so disable it and switch to the "Defualt" theme.

'Samsung theme' is a Windows desktop theme (on to Samsung OEM laptops, etc.) It has nothing to do with Firefox. Firefox is using the default firefox 29 theme - I don't want to have to install custom firefox themes or addons to resolve the problem introduced by the upgrade. Everything was fine in v 28. Many thanks Judith
