Adding file manager functionality

more options

I like the feature of the browser, whereby I type in a local drive d:\temp, for example and a nicely formatted browser window is displayed.

This is not an actual html page that would allow me to manipulate and or code to respond to some events, such as opening one of the files displayed.

Is there a means of displaying this page (functionality) as an html page.

When one types in c:\temp and view the source all one sees is the actual listing of the files in the directory, no tags at all.

Can this be embedded in a web page so that it can provide additional functionality

Firefox prevents websites from accessing the hard drive except in very limited ways. However, you might be able to use Flash or another plugin to do what you want to do.
