Firefox 7.0.1 Adobe Reader 9, Fedora Linux, opening the first .pdf link works, after that .pdfs open with a black screen. It is not a time out issue, the black screen will be there until closed. This even happens when opening the same link that worked originally. Sometimes, not often, but sometimes when reloading from a black screen the .pdf shows up. Question, how can I view .pdf using Adobe reader on Firefox. It is fine with me if it opens in another window rather than inside the browser. .. right now I have to download the .pdf and then open the file and it is rather tedious.

.. and yes I did go through the troubleshooting guide. I removed and then reinstalled the reader and the browser. And I forced the rebuild of the plugs database by deleting plugins.dat. I turned off all the special features in the Reader.

I have exactly the same problem! This black page seems annoying as you have always to save .pdf and then open it outside of firefox. Even I tried with chrome but the same problem there and there is no plug-in solution for that. How can we have this small function back to normal?

I work at the help desk of a university computer science department computer lab. The computers all run Fedora 15 and have Firefox 7.0.1 with Adobe Reader 9. They all share this problem.
