IIRC at one point I had a temperamental plugin that dealt with Adobe updates. I know on some occasions I have resorted to searching the Adobe site for alternative download links, but I only currently have the following one bookmarked http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe and I have not used it recently, but it still appears likely to work.

It may be worth checking your security software incase that is blocking updates or downloads from certain sites.

A problem in the past, was that Adobe would try to download Flashplayer 11 for OSX 10.6, when I am running OSX 10.5.8.

I just tried previous link and it's not working now. Here's how to check your version of Flashplayer: Check the status of Flashplayer version . Mine was version 11, not version 15. I'm going to uninstall flashplayer before reinstalling.
