Firefox Hangs in Release 4 and Release 3.6.16
I downloaded and installed Release 4.0 to my Laptop running Windows Vista Home Premium Service Pack 2. Firefox 4 started and went into an unresponsive state with high cpu. Had to end Firefox 4 from the task manager. Read in the forum a point about McAfee Site Adviser causing a similar problem so I deinstalled that product but still had the problem. I was able to start Firefox in Safe mode so I suspected an Add-on. Downloaded and installed Firefox 3.6.16 and am having the same problem.
1) How do I display the installed Add-ons? In safe mode it states they are disabled, but does not list them. 2) How can I isolate the problem? Thanks in advance.

The problem appears to be an extension that is looping. I as able to display the Add-ons from Tools just before the lock out occurred and disabled it. After restarting 3.6.16 the lockout disappeared.
It's also possible to use Safe Mode to disable add-ons: https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe%20Mode
