I have downloaded latest version of firefox (59.0.2) from official website and copied to home directory of linux server. After extracted firefox-59.0.2.tar.bz2 i got a directory named firefox. So, i have used yum install firefox. But, after install when i checked the version it is showing firefox 52.7.2. Need a help on this to install firefox 59.0.2 in linux. Is there any other command apart from yum or any force command is there to acquire the latest version for firefox. Thanks in adv.

Firefox for Linux from www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/ does not come with a installer or a rpm or deb or such. Various Linux distros may provide their own rpm or deb packages of Firefox.

It is basically a tarball archive you just extract and run the firefox .sh and you use Firefox.
