Which file did you create and/or copy? Firefox has an "export" feature which creates an HTML-format file, and a "backup" feature which creates a .json (or compressed .jsonlz4) file.

You can find Import HTML and Restore JSON under "Import & Backup" in the Bookmarks Manager (Library)
