I had itunes firefox and runescape client open when i noticed my computer running fast. i closed firefox first, then itunes, then the game client. when my computer "calmed down" i went to relaunch firefox and got a crash report. after few failed attempts i uninstalled/re installed a number of times.

Looks one of these crashes with a random dll in the modules list: dbnbmyby.dll.

Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

You can also do a check for a rootkit infection with TDSSKiller.
