This is problem with Firefox 4. Everything is fine, even files are getting downloaded to the correct destination, but it is not listed or shown in the download window. No suggestion has worked so far and I think this is a bug with Firefox 4 and WindowsXP compatibility that remains to be fixed in the next update. For me, I switched back to Firefox 3.6 which appears to be more reliable on this front.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

See:

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins"

If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile (be careful not to copy corrupted files)

The history settings that Corel supplied fixed my problem. I had this problem on a couple of different computers and had forgotten that I had changed the settings in the privacy tab. I can now see downloaded files in the download window. Thanks!
