How was this support forum unable to help you resolve your Firefox issues?

This was posted like 7 minutes - https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/804606?s=&as=s - prior to asking this question about expanding Firefox support.

In what manner would you like Firefox support expanded?

I didn't find a solution to my problem via the support forum

In way of support expansion, some ideas are having the ability to troubleshoot with a live person; be able to ask questions of a person from firefox who is most familiar with firefox products. I'm aware of the live chat, however the hours are limited; perhaps expanded help desk hours, a 1800 customer support number

I'd love to see more live chat hours...or an upgrade that works...or at least communication telling me the upgrade won't work on my system *prior* to an attempt to install it, which was prompted by Firefox.

Keep in mind that I am a support volunteer who doesn't work for Mozilla.

Open source free software doesn't have a revenue stream to support the cost of toll-free telephone lines, much less pay qualified people to "man" the phones and provide support. In fact, a good part of the development of Firefox and other Mozilla projects is done by un-paid volunteers.

Expanded Chat hours are planned, but that needs a lot more volunteers than Mozilla currently has for Chat.

so utpyrobabe: are you having the problems I'm experiencing. my difficulty is this - I upgraded to firefox 4 and have experienced nothing but problems ever since, some web pages aren't loading, the web pages that do load take an extremely long time to do so and are accompanied with "mozilla firefox is not responding" messages. and I'm having difficulty opening yahoo.

what [if anything] have you done about the problems you're having? are you using another internet browser? or have you decided to continue to use firefox?
