I've been using Thunderbird for over 25 years and have always loved it. Recently, my emails are all messed up. When I receive, there are 3 sections: the top shows the From, Subject, and Date as it is supposed to do. The middle section is the problem: it shows all kinds of stuff I'm not interested in, such as Message ID, In reply to, References, User agent, X-Authority-Analysis (which is full of nonsense), and below that all kinds of stuff that makes no sense at all (not English). And the 3rd section is where I respond. How do I get rid of that middle section? All I want is what the writer wrote and what I should reply to. That's it. What happened to T-Bird?

Here is a very tiny portion of that middle, illegible section: <v-dpfdcc_lllpljofc_fkjkddff_fkjkddff_a@bounce.e.traindemocrats.org> from p-impin005.msg.pkvw.co.charter.net ([47.43.26.146]) by p-mtain015.msg.pkvw.co.charter.net (InterMail vM.9.01.00.037.1 201-2473-137-122-172) with ESMTP id <20240607200201.KKSQ3703.p-mtain015.msg.pkvw.co.charter.net@p-impin005.msg.pkvw.co.charter.net> for <advenosa@cinci.rr.com>; Fri, 7 Jun 2024 20:02:01 +0000.

Press F10 to make the menu bar visible if it is not already. Select View menu > headers and set it to normal. It will probably be set to all.

Hello, Matt. Thanks for your response. I actually solved it myself by accident before you responded. I clicked on the 3 small horizontal lines at the upper right section of my screen when I was in my index and then clicked on one of the 3 items available: Settings, Account Settings, or Add-ons and Themes. I can't remember which one worked, but one of them did!

A few minutes ago, I tried your suggestion, just to see if it too would work, but it didn't. F10 didn't respond when I clicked on it. I don't know why I couldn't get your suggestion to respond. Why did mine? Any ideas?

If F10 does nothing try pressing alt, but with that the menu bar is only visible while you hold the key.
