I have Firefox set as my default browser on my Pixel phone running the latest security update from Google. When I click a link that opens in app, it gives me a temporary window/browser for just use with that app. This is how it should work. My problem comes in with my use of NoScript and it doing it's job (often leaving the page unable to load,) but I have no access to the addon to ok any scripts without transferring the whole thing to the primary browser, which to me is self-defeating. I currently have NoScript set to run in both private and regular tabs. Is there a way to access the add-ons from that temporary window browser? OR Is it only running in it because I have it set to run in private tabs as well?

This is as much a question as it is feedback from someone who is running Firefox as my primary browser on Android.

Thanks for your time, Damon

Hi Damon, I've only noticed this weird hobbled tab in my email client. If I long press the link, I can open it directly in the browser instead. There's also a little menu button in the hobbled tab to re-open it in the browser. So at least you have that?

This is as much a feature request as it is a how to question.

If a Dev can chime in on the possibility of this being considered for future updates, I will mark this as solved. -Damon

Further information on my question. The problem is that I want to be able to use the temporary window browser. In the options for that window doesn't have an option to control the add-ons. Specifically for me, I have several sites that I routinely give temp permission to. They are sites that I want to know if they are being referenced (mostly social media.) I don't want to have to open them in the main browser window. I just want to be able to control the add-ons from that temporary window browser. I know I can open directly to the main browser window from within that temporary window. My point is that I shouldn't have to. If the add-ons affect that temporary window then I should have access to them from within that window.

I hope that better explains what I am talking about. -Damon

Hi

At the present time, the special tabs that open from some apps are much lighter weight than the full Firefox for Android.

A balance needs to be kept between providing functionality and adding so much for many people's different use cases that opening the full Firefox for Android view is used instead.
