Don't know if I asked this before but I'll asked anyway. As of a couple a days ago everything was OK with Firefox. I was running good,Google was my default search engine. Now it's Bing as search engine,no Firefox page and I can't change it. Tried change search engine but couldn't change it and can't get Firefox page back. Does anyone know how to fix this? I wish Microsoft would stop trying to shove there stuff down our throats. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks Bob

Type about:addons<enter> in the address bar to open your Add-ons Manager. Hot key; (<Control> [Mac=<Command>] <Shift> A)

In the Add-ons Manager, on the left, select Extensions. Remove “ Bing “ Anything.

Also remove SafeSearch, SearchAssist Incognito, FileConverter Addon, SearchLock, DiscreteSearch, WebSearch, Findwide Search Engine, securedsearch

Now do the same in the computer’s Programs Folder.

Windows: Start > Control Panel > Uninstall Programs. Mac: Open the Applications folder. Linux: Check your user manual.

Try to start Firefox in Safe Mode to see if that works better.

  • Windows: hold down the Shift key while starting Firefox
  • Mac: hold down the Options key while starting Firefox

You can try to rename/remove search.json.mozlz4 in the Firefox profile folder with Firefox closed to rebuild the search engines registry.

You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.

Firefox will rebuild search.json.mozlz4 from the builtin search engines.
