Updated Firefox to 66.0.5. Now they stop working until I remove and reinstall them. Their icons are still there; in some, the ones that bring up a menu still show it but the buttons within that do nothing. Example: Duplicate Tabs Closer's 'close all duplicate tabs' button is grayed out and can't be clicked, while Tab Sessions Manager's 'save' button creates a 'failed to save session' error. Others, like Ghostery, the icon is grayed out.

It’s possible that there is a problem with the file(s) that store the extensions registry.

Type about:support in the address bar and press enter.

Under the page logo on the left side, you will see Application Basics. Under this find Profile Folder. To its right press the button Show Folder. This will open your file browser to the current Firefox profile. Now Close Firefox.

Windows: Show Folder; Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder

Linux: Under the page logo on the left side, you will see Application Basics. Under this find Profile Directory. To its right press the button Open Directory.

Delete all extensions* files and compatibility.ini in the Firefox profile folder to reset the extensions registry.

New files will be created when required.

After, restart Firefox.

See "Corrupt extension files":

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++ You will have to approve the updating one last time.

Deleted files, reinstalled add-ons. Worked briefly--as they do when removing and reinstalling before--and then back to the same behavior.

What are the addons? And have you also contact the developers of the addon.

All of them so far. Adblock Plus, Ghostery, Duplicate Tabs Closer, Tab Session Manager, Undo Close Tab Button, Video Downloadhelper, and Bulk Media Downloader.

I haven't thought to contact them because it's no one addon, it's everything.
