add-ons & themes are not syncing

I have the current stable release of Firefox installed on a Windows 10 laptop, and two Android devices (one runs Android One flavour of v9 and the other has Android v8).

I'm signed in to the same FF account on all three devices. I see messages (eg. "last synced 1m ago") that confirms that they are sync'ing. I have my sync options set to sync everything on all devices.

I was expecting that all the things selected in 'sync settings' would get synced, which would include add-ons. But neither add-ons nor themes are getting synced.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Addons are not Synced to Firefox for Android. This is because only some of the extensions at addons.mozilla.org work in both Firefox and Firefox for Android.
