I want to migrate from outlook express, but Thunderbird takes some old account information (I do not know where they are) and not the actual ones. Therefore I want to delete the accounts and create new ones.

Hi karlw,

assuming that you are using one of the latest Thunderbird versions and are running Windows:

  1. right-click on an account in the left-hand pane of TB's main window
  2. select "settings" (or "properties", not sure as I'm using another language than English)
  3. the accounts management window will appear - select the account by highlighting (clicking once) on the according entry in the left-hand listbox
  4. then, below the listbox, there is a dropdown for account actions: Click it and select "delete account"

For creating a new account, select "File" > "New" and then the according entry for what you want to achieve (e.g. "Existing email account" if you want to access your POP3 or IMAP mail account)

Hope this helps, cheers, Thomas
