I don't know why but my firefox data have been washed off when I deleted a programm that was installed with some other programm I needed. Now I don't have the tiles as my start page, which was really helpful and efficient. I have seen the explanation about tiles but I don't see the gear sign underneath the meny button with three horizontal lines. So I went to "Options" through the Menu button mentioned above and set the starting page as previous windows and tab. Unfortunately, that still does not work and I'm lost. Please help me.

Hi, try this: Type about:config into the address bar, press Enter, accept the warning, scroll down to browser.newtab.url and make sure 'Value' is set to about:newtab (right click to change it if necessary, taking care not to alter anything else).

Also, In Options > General tab, make sure that 'When Firefox starts' is set to 'Show my home page.' And Home Page is set to about:newtab

If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please take a minute to let us know.
