I have stayed on an old version of TB because of the old extensions that made it a much better product.

With the installation of Win 11 I decided to try the latest version of TB. I have to say I am not impressed. I forgot how much better TB was with the extensions.

My first question is how do I get to sort the order of items I see in TB? I want News & Feeds to be displayed above my email accounts. It would seem that this would be easy but I cannot find a way of doing it. What am I not understanding? Surely this should be simple? I want to choose the order of everything.

I also customised the interface with better scrollbars etc. None of the add-ons I used to use seem to work with the latest TB. At the moment the new install of TB is incredibily ugly. How do I change that?

I added a PNG picture as a background to my emails. Instead of a single background picture, it produces a collage (can't think of another word) of multiple copies of the same picture. Any way to just get a single picture?

when I search for Quicktext Tutorials i see a nicely working application which allows me to manage text components and include them neatly in my writing. But what is actually showing after installation is a bit meager.

I can choose between "variables" and "other". ""Variables" is of no use at all, Other" simly allowes me to include a saved file in text or html from a folder. Well, thats a bit stoneage like, but I would have worked with that option, but:

Unfortunately, there is no way that Quicktext will save textsnippets as html or text. I definitely do not see myself copying parts of emails into notepad and saving them manually. That would be a very lame automation and definitely not quick enough ;). Also I am looking for the sort of "preview" Outlook is offering with Quick Parts.

Does anyone know anything about this problem or can recommend a better addon? I hate writing the same stuff again and again and again.

Hello, ive been using T'Bird as my business email client.

Whenever I hit send it requires me to type the password in. How can i get it to remember it? Ive been through the settings and there is no option to save.

Ive tried deleting my account and adding a new one but its no different.

I have several sub-folders connected to my "Inbox". How do I have specific incoming mail sent directly to the different sub-folders? I had no problem doing this prior to Thunderbird 115.1 taking over my previous edition. Tried following the instructions under Settings but it wasn't very helpful.

I can't paste the link I get from Dropbox to connect FileLink for Dropbox into my settings. Why not? Even when I type the very long string by hand, it will not connect. What am I doing wrong? Is there a step I am missing? I really need this feature. Thanks- Pat Stoll

It used to be that we would see - in the account tree - a number telling us how many emails we have available to read. As you would open an email, this number would automatically reduce.

Now, not only do we get this email count, but I am getting an email count of ALL the email in an account folders (Inbox, Sent, Received, etc.). I don't know who invented this, but I do not want it.

How can I go back to Thunderbird only showing me my unread emails available?

This last week one of my inboxes started to group my emails by Today, Last 7 days,Last 14 day and Older. I find no option to change that back to showing all the emails in date order like my other email accounts. The other posts on this topic that I can find are all for older versions that I don't see the commands for in my version.

I am using version 115.11.1 - 64 bit.

I have two identical instances of the Thunderbird 115.11.0 (64-bit) installed on Fedora 40 (two different boxes) They display Email preview differently (See attached pictures)

Anybody knows how to change that view? What settings?

Hi is there an add-on or can the settings of Thunderbird be changed so that when an email notification on macos comes through, it shows the first few words of an email. This is helpful for receiving verification codes. You can know it just by a glance at the notification rather than open the email.

At the moment it shows the email from and subject but not the first few words of the email body (unlike iOS).

If I right-click on any photo or item in the explorer and choose "share", the mailadresses that show up as options in the "share window" is not associated with Thunderbird, but with Outlook. I have tried every solution I have found on the net, incl. making sure TB was chosen as the mail client for any file type, removing any leftovers from outlook and from registration data base, but still only adresses connected with Outlook shows up (and I can see that it is from an old mailing list, that does not include more recent contacts). So why does the share windows not have assess to Thunderbird and its mail adresses?

I'd like to use microsoft exchanges in to the thunderbird desktop app. Is that possible? I've tried to set it up but it doesn't seem to be working. I'm able to receive emails but when I try to send it asks for a password and it says it's not correct....

This topic was closed but the Bug was never fixed for Mac. The problem is, sometimes a spelling is correct as intended or not, depending upon its context in the email body. But the Spell Check Window covers that up as it blocks the middle of the email body.

It can't be moved in Thunderbird for Mac.

A previous post - now archived - suggested a left click on the (spell check?) window title area would allow moving the window. But that only works on ... Windows ... because it certainly does NOT work on a Mac. No click-drag, left or right, resulted in un-anchoring the spell check window from the center of the email body.

One example is when I used the word Add-ons. The spell check stopped at "ons", wanting to correct it to "one". If "ons" was by itself, I could see that. But I couldn't know that it referred to "ons" from Add-ons because the spell-check window covered that text.

Blocking remote content by default is a very positive security feature. But needing to add each and every email address individually is NOT optimum and wastes a lot of time. We really need a method to globally allow remote content from specified domains. For instance, it would be handy to allow remote content from any/all email from IBM, but I certainly don't want this for gmail.com addresses. This seems like a very simple improvement to code.
