TB 128.0.1esr (64-bit), updated a couple of days ago, highlights the destination folder so faintly when I drag and drop an email from another folder that it's hard to be sure I've selected the right folder. Until now the highlighting has been prominent so drag-and-drop went much faster.
Is this hard-wired in the app? I checked the settings menus and don't find a user preference for controlling this highlighting.

I will repeat ... I want to speak with someone DIRECTLY. That is much, much faster than the back and forth via email, and cuts down on lots of the misdirection and misunderstandings that occur.
I have a lot more info that may or may not be valuable to trouble shooting this issue. That can become clear with a phone call.
If this gets too frustrating attempting to get direct support via phone, I will likely just eventually give up and assume what I will assume.
I'd rather remain a Thunderbird user and restart my contributions supporting your awesome effort.

I used to be a Thunderbird user, and donated every year. I stopped last year because GoDaddy updated their email servers, and my Thunderbird stopped being able to log in. I called GoDaddy support (~ Nov 2023) about it, and while they had a year or so earlier been able to help me with Thunderbird login, at the time (~ Nov 2023) they no longer had anyone who understood Thunderbird very well.
Since then I have only accessed GoDaddy email via my Firefox browser. However, I want to get back to using Thunderbird.
I want to work with someone from Thunderbird interactively over the phone to achieve a successful login and integration with the GoDaddy email server using my Thunderbird application.
I am running Windows 10 on a DELL laptop. GoDaddy email server is Microsoft 365.
I am fairly technically competent, and so I can be quick on the phone to verify all is working well. If successful, I will send a donation to Thunderbird within 24 hours.
Please respond personally. Automated responses are generally fairly irritating, because they often don't answer the issues I am having. You know what I mean.
Looking forward to hearing from you. Please send a phone number that I can call. Or you can text me or reach me at [edited phone# from community support forum]
Thanks much,
Scott

After reboot my composition screen is very messed up. For one thing it's missing the "send" button, and the usual instructions (click on "view", then "toolbars", then "composition" do not fix it.
I've restarted Thunderbird and re-rebooted and the problem persists.

Just updated to Thunderbird Nebula 128.0.1esr on Windows 11 and my calendars are all empty now. I have Google and Exchange (via OWL extension) calendars that have worked flawlessly up until this update, but all show no events in Thunderbird. No other changes have been made and the calendars appear populated in other applications.
Edit: Seems to have fixed itself after a reboot/on a different network. Still 128.0.1

So yesterday everything was working fine, today Thunderbird is dead.
I run my own mail server. It's using a self signed certificate which never was a problem before - and I'm not sure it's the source of the problem now. When I click the "Get Messages" button, nothing happens. I'm not getting an error pop-up, nor an error message in the status bar at the bottom. Nothing happens. However, if I look in my mail server's log file, I see this appear:
2024-08-04T17:47:14.983935+02:00 enterprise dovecot: pop3-login: Disconnected: Connection closed (no auth attempts in 0 secs): user=<>, rip=<my ip address>, lip=<server's ip address>, TLS, session=<7SV7ed0eXTTVSYV6>
It doesn't matter if I try to retrieve mail through POP or IMAP. The exact same thing happens. It's not the mail server. I have another mail client and it is able to retrieve my mails just fine.
I deleted the account's passwords. Didn't help. I removed the Certificates. Didn't help.
So what's going on here?

Hi,
For some reason all my mesages- both incoming and sent- are only being shown as plain text- all HTML funcionality and formating is lost. I have searched the settings, tried troubleshooting mode, emptied the cache, repaired the folders and scoured the forums to no avail. I am using version 128.0.1esr (64-bit) - which I believe was recently updated.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

First off you should warn that this version changes your profile, so there is no going back. I installed it and have lost ALL of my accounts and had to start from scratch. It took me back to the beginning. I hate the interface, too cluttered, to busy and generally sucks. I am thinking of dumping thunderbird at many, many years of using it.

Hi, I am writing on behalf of an elderly user who sometimes closes Thunderbird windows when making their way to other Thunderbird windows or Tabs which are open. This sometimes leads to the situation where, in the Windows taskbar, there is no blue Thunderbird icon visible, but there are Thunderbird Write icons visible (the black-coloured fat pencil icon). The problem is that the "Launched" or "Home" icon can vanish from the Taskbar even when the Thunderbird program is open, such as for writing an email.
This person's workflow requires the blue icon to be stable - it should never disappear from the Taskbar, even if certain Thunderbird windows are closed. I have tried explaining the logic and what to do, but after decades of using "forever stable" email software and their permanent "stable Home icons are always to be found in the Taskbar" I am unable to change the users' expectations about usability.(I am providing family IT support for my elderly parents and others.)
I would like to implement a script or install an add-in which ensures that the blue Thunderbird "Launched" or "Home" icon is permanently welded to the Taskbar, like a limpet, in all circumstances.
This "Sticky blue Home Thunderbird icon in the Taskbar" would be an acceptable usability outcome even if it means computer performance is degraded by allowing users to open multiple instances of Thunderbird.
Put plainly, they want it more and if performance is the price to pay, they will accept that price.
Is any such script available? Is there a switch in the coding I can change to enable stickiness? Is there an Add-In which can achieve this outcome? Is there any other path to the desired solution?
Thank you for your time considering this and solutions.
I moved thunderbird to another hard drive and am wondering if there is a way to import my previous settings

Until I tried to set a task 5 minutes in size (I am logging timeboxing rather than setting things in advance) and the visual block had a minimum size that made it overlap even though the times don't (had this issue super heavily with google calendar, thought this could be the saviour but ig not). I'm not a C++/JS programmer I only know lua, html and css so I could take a look at the source code but I've also never built anything and I'm not sure if this will be as easy as tweaking a value.
If anyone has expertise and it doesn't take them that much time I would appreciate it if you could send a build where the event block can be visually any size you set it to. Thanks either way
