I changed the screen shortcut icon for https://mappingsupport.com.

Then in the profiles folder, I renamed the file favicon.sqlite, closed Firefox and restarted my PC. But when I saved the mappingsupport shortcut to my screen, I still see the old shortcut image.

I also tried going to Privacy and Security where I deleted 'Cached web content'.

How do I tell Firefox to get rid of that old shortcut image and use the new shortcut image instead?

Chrome on my PC saved the new shortcut icon to my screen. My iPad also saved the new shortcut icon to the screen.

The issues I am facing with outlook mail seems to have occurred within the last 3 months. I have used outlook in Chrome and there is no issue. I have gone to the Microsoft site and there are several complaints that Outlook is not usable with Firefox. On my company machine, I limit my personal email to Firefox.

Other web pages seem to be fine, just outlook mail. I use Firefox for most of my testing & personal and Chrome for corporate browsing.

The issues start occurring after about 5 min, within the last month. I am a MacOS user and I have v.104. The issues face range from not limited emails listed, missing icons, javaScript drop-downs not working, not being able to delete emails, not being able to restore emails.

When I refresh the page, more recently Outlook crashes. My cache for Outlook is around 13-14Mb. When I clear the cache, things are fine for about 5-10 min. When the page refresh fails, I get the following consistent error message:- UTC Date: 2022-08-30T18:49:33.551Z Client Id: 1069883F64C04966AFA704CEF4EF3E78 Session Id: a338a732-ad52-4dee-a388-43aac7dac2b8 Client Version: 20220819006.08 BootResult: cdnError Failed resource: https://res-geo.cdn.office.net/owamail/20220819006.08/scripts/../resources/locale/en-gb/owa.MailListItemThreeColumnView.json err: Error: Failed to load localized strings esrc: InitLoc et: ClientError estack: c@https://outlook.live.com/mail/0/?bO=2&sessionId=a338a732-ad52-xxxx-a388-43aac7dac2b8:341:116883 a/a<@https://outlook.live.com/mail/0/?bO=2&sessionId=a338a732-ad52-xxx-a388-43aac7dac2b8:341:116563

Frequently when I update Firefox something stops working the way I want it to. So after the last update I disabled updates. That was a while ago (version 89) and my browser was getting pretty stale. So I backed everything up, reenabled updates, and now I have version 104.

And, of course, something is broken now. The context menus when I right click are not functioning as before. The userChrome.css is still there in the chrome folder in my profile and has the same contents. The option toolkit.legacyUserProfileCustomizations.stylesheets is set to true. But it doesn't work anymore. I added a line to change the color of the tab toolbar and that worked. So userChrome.css is being read and acted upon. But the other command (I whittled it down to just one additional command for testing) is ignored.

Here is what my userChrome.css looks like right now:

@namespace url("http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul");

  1. context-openlinkintab { display:none!important; }
  2. TabsToolbar{ background-color: #CCCCCC !important }

But the "Open Link in New Tab" still appears in the context menu when I right click a link. It didn't do this before the upgrade to 104. Did something break in between version 89 and 104 or is it some other oddity?

Any ideas?

Firefox stopped clearing browser and download history when the browser is closed. It appears this started after the latest update (104.0). The settings have not been changed, nor have any new extensions been added. Firefox just simply stopped performing this function as it should.
