I cannot explain why, but this font setting keeps reverting itself no matter what I do. When I check it again, and close the window, then visit a page, it will RESET itself for no apparent reason!

Starting the browser in safe mode stops this from happening, but I cannot figure out for the life of me what setting I have set on the back end to cause it!

I have gone as far as HARD DELETING all my preferences by hand in Explorer and my entire sync file, and the Firefox sync keeps bringing it back no matter what I do. I am thinking I might need to just create a new email address and start with a fresh install of Firefox to make it stop doing this.

Is there a way to reset all my preferences back to the default at the FIREFOX ACCOUNT level or is there a way to make this damn setting stop resetting itself??

It's ruining a LOT of websites that I visit and it's just really frustrating. I DO NOT want to have to go back to a different browser because of this silly issue.

This issue is happening with every newly installed add-on, but not with add-ons installed on or before Aug 3, 2024. The add-ons are installed via addons.mozilla.org. To rule out the possibility that it's happening only with specific add-ons, I also installed one of the random recommendations on that page, Augmented Steam which has 54,248 users, and it happens with that one as well.

I'll click Enable, but the prompt appears every time I restart Firefox.

What I've tried (with a restart after each attempt):

• Clear the startup cache
• Delete extensions.json
• Delete compatibility.ini
• Via about:config deleted extensions.databaseSchema and extensions.getAddons.databaseSchema
• Excluded Add-ons from syncing

I've noticed the following in extensions.json for each of the recent add-ons after restart:

• syncGUID changes to presumably random new value
• active changes from true to false
• userDisabled changes from false to true
• seen changes from true to false

I put in a web address and password for a bank and hit enter - it doesn't go through and comes back to the log-in page It was working. I don't know what happened

I mistakenly dragged a text from a search box and dropped it on my browser page. If this text is a url (Ex: www.some_site.com), Firefox will navigate to that page. How do I prevent Firefox from opening dropped links on pages?

For some reason no matter how hard I try I am unable to change the display language of my Firefox account. Not my browser, my specific Firefox account.

bold textdownloading only produces " .part " files in my downloads directory. I had previously attempted a large file download but error message said it was not completed. Now cannot download anything

When I hover over tabs, Firefox also displays a text below. So, for example, if I hover over the tab for Google Calendar, a text below shows 'Google Calender - August 2024'. Can I disable the text somehow?

I get the following error when I try to log in to Bitwarden with windows hello: Browser integration is not set up in the Bitwarden desktop application. Please set it up in the settings within the desktop application.

A few days ago, on Firefox (been using for many years) middle clicking on a YouTube thumb nail video results in an "Video unavailable This content isn’t available" message. Must left click and and can only have one tab open at a time. Even when my wife emails me a link to see something on You Tube it will not open that video. This is very annoying involving copy and pasting and back tracking.

Searching for a solution, I can deselect video previews in YouTube settings (which I don't need anyway), however this only works in Chrome not in Firefox which is my preferred browser.

Maybe this can be corrected in either a Firefox or YouTube update.

I uninstalled WhatsApp desktop and deleted handlers.json, but when I click the "Join chat" button on chat.whatsapp.com, Firefox still ask me if I want to open with WhatsApp desktop.

Is this a default behaviour? If not, how can I fix this? Thanks.

How do I get AOL Webmail working for default mailto again?

I used to have the AOL mail site as Firefox's default mail. Somehow when I opened up Thunderbird recently for something, it up and decided that it had to be my default for mail links in Firefox, too, I guess? Maybe something changed with a system update a while back, I'm not sure. In case Thunderbird really did decide to take over, and will do it again next time I open it, what's the setting in that to get it to stop doing that? What did I put wrong in there?

At any rate, I haven't liked the change.

I don't seem to be able to pick AOL from the Applications options in Firefox's settings, and when I pick to "use other", I get a dialog that'll only allow me to pick an application file, and won't allow putting in the URL for AOL Mail. I did not use a helper app before, and the extension I tried from the Firefox Add-ons site doesn't work right. It opens the AOL page, but doesn't even open a new mail compose page, let alone fill the email address I clicked on as it ought to.

I'm guessing this will take editing something in about:config, but I don't know what to put in there. What's the fix?

Hello, my browser on my personal laptop is now under management by my university. I suspect this is because I used this account on their computers and they've gone backwards for whatever reason. I did a little digging but I don't think this is the same problem as the other articles. I'm just hoping there's a way I can disconnect my personal account from my school's systems and such, many thanks

I know this must be weird

and I am aware of `about:config` -> `layout.word_select.stop_at_punctuation`

here is what bugs me:

with above setting to OFF , when I double click on IP address, like `123.123.123.123` , it selects all , exactly what I want

on the other hand, sometimes I need click on domains , for example I am visiting `https://firefox.org/` , and in address bar , if I double click the domain , it selects `https://firefox.org/` but I want it only to select the `firefox` or `org` depends on where I clicked , as the punctuation OFF only applied to IP, but keep ON with all other text

is this possible ?
