When i connect to secure websites (ie national aust bank) a message comes up saying not a trusted website and security certificate is invalid? I also can't book flights on virgin and qantas site? Please help. I could do all this 24 hours ago but now cannot do anything like this.

Try to update to a more recent Firefox 3.6.x or 6.0.x version.
Your current Firefox 3.0.19 version may have outdated SSL certificate that have expired.
Also check the date and time in the clock on your computer: (double) click the clock icon on the Windows Taskbar.

thank you - the problem was with the clock as it was set as December 2011. It now all works perfectly - thank you very much.

You should still consider updating Firefox to the latest version via "Help > Check for Updates or Help > About Firefox"
The Firefox version that you use is no longer maintained with security and stability updates.
Using unsupported Firefox versions is at your own risk and makes you vulnerable to attacks.
