Crash ID: bp-b40c2444-9f4d-4465-b726-846172111108 windows XP/Firefox 7.0 crashes even in safemode (3x)...no problems untill 11/7/11-no new downloads or upgrades-no troubleshooting preformed at this time....please advise.

This is likely caused by Trusteer Rapport (probably older signature in versions below build 1108.47). Try to disable it and see if that stops the crashing.
You can stop Rapport using Start Menu > Programs > Trusteer Rapport > Stop Rapport
You can ask their helpdesk when an updated version of their product will be made available or, if you don't need this software, uninstall it.
