Vanguard.com made a change to their logon process that now requires all logons must go through their 2 step authentication process, that sends a text msg with an authorization code to a smartphone, which in turn is entered into the authentication popup that appears after the main userid/password logon is accepted.

My issue is after I've gone through the initial logon by entering my userid and password, and hitting the "logon button", nothing happens. The authentication popup does not appear, and no text msg is received, so I can't get past the initial logon dialog.

I've user another browser to logon on to the Vanguard site, and I successfully complete the 2 step process and get logged on.

On Firefox, I've got the Vanguard logon url in the exception list of the pop-up blocker, and enhanced tracking protection. I also it excluded in the ad blocker extension installed on Firefox.

How can I determine what is breaking the 2 step logon authentication? I'm assuming that I some privacy setting in Firefox that likely doing it... maybe. What else can I check in my settings?

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

Thank you!!

Something in the stored history for the website was causing the issue. Once I followed the instructions to go into "manage history" and "forget" the website, my issue was solved.
