Hi guys, I'm using Firefox for the first time today on my smartphone. So far I have used Vivaldi.

Now I miss a possibility in Firefox to get directly to the start page with one click, and thus to get to the favourites (most used pages, collections, ...).

In Vivaldi there is a kind of home button in the middle. Is that also possible with Firefox? Or how do you do it?

Thank you!

Hi

Thank you for your question.

Please appreciate that different web browsers work in different ways. In Firefox for Android, select the tab counter next to the address bar, and tap the + icon to go to the homescreen.

I hope that this helps.

I am aware of that. I still find it cumbersome. I would find it better to go directly to the quick dial.

Thanks anyway.

Hi

You could also add the page to your top sites do that it appears on the Firefox for Android home screen or add it to the Android home screen as a direct shortcut.

I know. But what I find awkward is this: Let's say page X and Y are in my "Top Sites". I am currently on page X. Then I want to visit page Y. In e.g. Vivaldi, I click on the speed dial button and click on page Y. The existing tab is overwritten and I still have only one tab open.

In Firefox, I have to click on the tab icon, then close the existing page and then click on page Y. If I do not delete the existing page but open a new tab, I will eventually have countless open tabs.

Do you understand what I mean?

Hi

Yes, I see what you mean. I understand that the new tab behaviour may be reviewed in a future update.
