I have been saving webpages on my mobile device using UnMHT to save them as MHT files.

Then I transfer them to my laptop, but my laptop firefox wont open MHT. IE opens them fine, but firefox just gives me a dialog box to choose save or open with firefox, and if you click to open with firefox it just does the same thing in a new tab, again asking to save or open.

I know it isn't an issue with the file itself as I can make a text file saved as mht and IE will open it, but firefox won't even try.

Did you install the UnMHT extension? (or similar like Mozilla Archive Format) It is needed not only to save in MHT format but also the allow Firefox to read the saved on other devices MHT files. MHTML format is particular to Microsoft programs, an add-on is needed to add that feature to Mozilla Gecko-based browsers.

Thanks for that. I didn't realize firefox would need an add on to read it, seems kinda like a common format to me.

Changing the extension to html works, somewhat.

Now I just need to get internet on my laptop somehow to download the add on.
