How do I stop Firefox emblem from appearing on screen after it is closed?

When I download an attachment, Firefox installation pops up. When I close, there is a Firefox emblem on my screen which I then have to send to trash at least twice to get rid of.

Make sure that Firefox gets installed properly.

Open the Firefox disk image file and drag the Firefox program into the Applications folder on your hard drive. You shouldn't double-click the Firefox application to run it from the disk image, but instead drag it out of the DMG folder.
