Issue: click fullscreen button in-game, game flashes into full screen (black), then flashes out and back in and back out again into windowed mode, then refreshes.

Resembles: Same issue occurred around a year and a half ago, fixed by a Firefox update.

Unity player: 4.1.2f1 : uptodate Firefox: 20.0.1: uptodate Windows: Vista 64 Ultimate: uptodate

Chosen solution

Apparently it was a Unity cache error - I had previously cleared that and updated.

After going to their website and using their link to clear it seems to have worked.

The Unity page to clear the cache is http://unity3d.com/webplayer_setup/setup-3.x/

I believe the issue was due to a problem with the Unity and Firefox fullscreen modes interfering with each other.

Unfortunately they are both up to date.

The game has just switched over to using Unity 4, and Firefox updated at the same time. It is probably a Unity-Firefox issue as this also happened on the test servers a few weeks ago when they trialled Unity 4 there.

I have had the Unity 4 player installed for many months, while the game was still using Unity 3.X, and it was working ok.
