With the Yahoo Firefox version -- 16.0.2 -- how do I delete a folder, empty or with items in it?

I'm able to delete book mark items within a folder, but unable to delete an entire folder with items in it, or an empty folder. It appears that this version is too recent for any of the previous help items to be of any assistance.

My Mac Desktop operating system is 10.7.5. The Firefox version (for Yahoo) is 16.0.2. If the JAVA info is important, I do not appear to have JAVA. I gather Apple stopped loading it around the time I got my desktop.

You mean there is no "Delete" item in the context menu for a folder when you right-click the folder in the "Show All Bookmarks" window? It is there and works for me, and I have Firefox 16.0.2.

I can't "right click" it -- maybe has something to do with the mouse (which came with the Desktop Mac).

What ever happened to the "Manage Bookmarks" feature that was so easy to use on earlier versions of Firefox!

On a Mac you probably need to do this in the right pane in the Bookmarks and History Manager (Library)

  • Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks

You can't remove any of the three main bookmarks folders (Bookmarks Toolbar, Bookmarks Menu, Unsorted), but you should be able to remove any folders that you've created yourself via the right-click context menu in the right pane in the Bookmarks Manager (Library).

If you have a one-button mouse, you Control-click to get the context menus. Either pane works in the bookmarks window to delete a folder in Mac Firefox.
