The Window in the center of the screen where I would type my search description is not working in the upgraded version I downloaded 11/26/2011. I can search in the URL Window or in the Google Window to the right of the URL. What happened to the Main Search Window??? It has a Search button to the right of the Window, but when clicked no search happens???

Do you mean that the search bar on the about:home page isn't working?

If that is the case then try to delete the chromeappsstore.sqlite file in the Firefox Profile Folder.

If the search bar still isn't working then reset the browser.startup.homepage_override.mstone pref to the default via the right-click context menu. Close and restart Firefox.

To open the about:config page, type about:config in the location (address) bar and press the "Enter" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.

  • Use the Filter bar at to top of the about:config page to locate a preference more easily.
  • Preferences that have been modified show as bold (user set).
  • Preferences can be reset to the default via the right-click context menu if they are user set
  • Preferences can be changed via the right-click context menu: Modify (String or Integer) or Toggle (Boolean)
