When I first downloaded Firefox about a year or so ago. It was OMG fast...now from the time I start it it takes 30-45 seconds to initially load before hitting the Internet. I haven't done any add on's unless they are included in the next upgrade...Ideas

I don't change anything from the initial download...no addons...I keep my flash updated and other minor stuff for videos and movies..but I don't know why it has gotten so slow. I go into tools and clear recent history and also do the same from windows and also keep the disk contiguous. Antivirus(No viruses since download), no spyware or adware...and on occasion it will lock up(like tonight) I don't know. Thanks Much

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.

Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.
